In the first book, Samuel is a Son of Morning and plays a crucial role in the final battle against Lucifer’s army.

Though well over a thousand years younger than Michael, he is still a very strong spirit and a powerful force for good.

Samuel is able to find his true love, Sarah, on earth and they are married.  Their relationship is one of beauty which offers great stability for their children on earth.  Unfortunately though, the society in which they live ultimately begins to take a turn for the worse.

Samuel’s role in the fourth novel becomes pivotal, as ultimately it is not safe for he and Sarah to remain in their homeland.  With Sarah, it becomes his responsibility to lead all who will listen to them on a quest for safety, leaving behind all those that delight in the evil that Lucifer and his rebel forces inspire.

Whilst leading all those who will follow, Samuel unlocks such power as has scarcely entered into the heart of man.  That power is the only chance that Samuel and his followers have, as they are pursued by many who are determined to destroy them.

Samuel’s key qualities are his gentleness, humility and his desire that every soul should return safely to their premortal home.
