In the first novel Michael is the archangel and the leader of the Sons of the Morning.

As a spirit he is almost twelve thousand years old, and is one of the best prepared to embark upon his mortal journey. For this reason, he is one of the first sent to earth and next features in the second book in the series.

On earth he is reunited with his soul mate, Rachel, and is provided the opportunity to marry her. At a crucial juncture in the second book, Michael must choose between everything he believes to be right, and his love for Rachel. This critical decision has far reaching implications for all mankind.

Reasoning that if he can just corrupt Michael then many will follow after him, Lucifer devotes much of his time to his former foe. As part of his attempts to break Michael he also targets Michael and Rachel’s children, with great success.
