General Silick is a tall and imposing spirit, but as a person he is a small and pathetic soul who did not seize his opportunity to grow within the Kingdom, before Lucifer’s cause arrived on the scene. Consequently, finding this movement completely to his liking, he agrees with Anas to perform any dirty work that Lucifer may require. In consequence of this faithfulness, both Silick and Anas are appointed the joint commanding officers of Lucifer’s army.
In his attempts to maintain control over his followers, Lucifer does not operate a traditional chain of command and he keeps the army independent of the influence of Ham, Troy or Jezebel. Consequently, Lucifer oversees his armed forces directly and, during the first novel, is content to allow Silick and Anas to jointly oversee his troops.
The relationship between Silick and Anas in book one can almost be termed a friendship, however things take a turn for the worse from the second book, when the two generals find themselves competing for Lucifer’s favour in order to secure leadership of the rebel army.
By the second book, in the absence of the light of truth, Silick is well on his way to becoming a despicable individual, and his personal qualities only disintegrate further as the series progresses.
As a member of Lucifer’s rebel forces, and as a consequence of being without a mortal body, Silick features in all books in the series as one of the sworn enemies of all mankind. As a result, the only hope that Silick maintains is the hope of bringing his misery upon others.
Silick entirely wasted the eleven thousand years he was granted in the kingdom and risks paying an eternal penalty for backing the wrong horse.
